A Broken Trust - EPISODE ONE

Every night officer Alisha Morales patrols the Fort Peck Reservation in far eastern Montana. She is on the front lines of an epidemic of sexual violence against American Indian and Alaska Native women. This crisis is a symptom of much bigger issues that started centuries ago, and continue today, often resulting in little or no justice for survivors. As the only female police officer in her department, Morales is determined to do whatever she can to give survivors hope.

A harrowing deep dive into the racial group most likely to be raped in the US - American Indian and Alaska Native women. Our investigation uncovers how race, politics and the law have prevented these survivors from finding justice.
