Trans Athletes Speak Out

At a time when so much hate and misinformation about trans athletes is rampant, Imara brings two talented trans competitors on the show to hear their stories and celebrate their accomplishments.

First CeCé Telfer, the first openly trans woman to win a National Collegiate Athletic Association title, joins Imara to discuss her historic win, how the attacks on trans girls in sports is rooted in anti-Black racism, and how she continues to follow her passion despite the backlash. Plus, Chris Mosier, the first openly trans athlete to represent the US in an international competition, comes on the show to discuss his career and the importance of making space for other trans athletes. And, for our moment of Trans Joy this episode, we celebrate Luca Page who started RadicallyFit, a gym that centers queer, trans, POC, big bodied and fat identified people.
