Dr. Mariel Buquè

Clark interviews holistic psychologist, and sound bath meditation healer Dr. Mariel Buquè. Clark begins the conversation by asking Dr. Buquè to lead them through a breathing exercise. Clark asks Dr. Buquè about how she creates boundaries for herself given the nature of her work, and Dr. Buquè not only reveals her morning ritual, but shares how everyone else can find their own mindful and gratitude based practices. Clark and Dr. Buquè discuss growing up in the Dominican Republic, and then her eventual move to the US where she received her doctorate in psychology from Columbia University. Clark asks Dr. Buquè about her mission to connect racial-ethnic minorities to culturally affirming mental health care. Dr. Buquè explains epigenetic and intergenerational trauma. Finally, Dr. Buquè shares what is currently healing her mind, body and spirit—her Soul Balm.
