They say politics is a dirty game, but in Dekalb County, Georgia late in 2000 it became deadly when someone gunned down Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown in front of his home just days before he was to be sworn into office. A life-long law enforcement officer it would be easy to assume he was targeting by someone out for revenge --- and that indeed proved to be the case, but it wasn’t an ex-con. It was the man Brown beat in that election to be the county sheriff. Someone They Knew with Tamron Hall airs Sunday nights at 9pm eastern.
