DAGON / NIGHTMARE CITY: Schlock-tastic Voyage

Bad acting. Bad scripts. INCREDIBLE effects. The Cadaver Dogs take a schlock-tastic voyage during their analysis of two international cult classics. What makes these movies so bad they’re good? Or, so bad they’re… well, bad? 

By stripping down to the bare bones of Stuart Gordan’s DAGON and Umberto Lenzi’s NIGHTMARE CITY , you see the necessities of a horror film. The Dogs analyze the creature design, film direction , and fear tactics that have made these films “guilty pleasures” for horror fans. During their dive into Dagon, an adaptation of The Shadow Over Innsmouth by H.P. Lovecraft, they talk xenophobia and fear of the other. While Nightmare City makes them question the boundaries of exploitation films and if action horror should be a considerable genre.
